The secret to a fit and healthy you is out! We've taken the mystery out of getting into tip-top shape. Try these simple but effective tricks to get fit and stay that way.

Secret #1: Fit women eat smart.

Establishing healthy eating habits is one of the best ways to get fit. So try these eating tips on for size:
  • Begin lunch and dinner with a salad or a broth-based soup. You're more likely to eat less when you fill up on fiber-rich veggies or soup first.
  • Keep your metabolism active by eating a small meal or snack every three hours. It'll keep your energy up and your blood sugar level steady, and will help your body burn more calories.
  • Cut out foods high in white flour and sugar. Both will spike your insulin level and turn any extra calories into fat.
  • Watch your portions—eat until you're full and save the leftovers for another meal.
  • Don't forget your fruits and veggies! Full of nutrients and low in calories, they're your best friends on the path to fitness.

Secret #2: Fit women drink smart.

Energy drinks, sugary sodas, and creamy lattes: Today, the only thing higher than the number of unhealthy drinks is the calories they contain. Even certain fruit juices and smoothies can pack more sugar and calories than you bargained for.

Fit women know that the healthiest drink is water. It's plenty refreshing and is easy on your wallet. And with zero calories, it's easy on your waistline, too. Need more taste? Give your water some pep with PUR® Flavor Options™. With a push of a button, you can add delicious flavor to your water without adding any calories.

Secret #3: Fit women exercise smart.

Super crunched for time? That's OK—it just means you have to get creative. Try taking a walk in the morning or during your lunch break. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Sit on a fitness ball instead of a chair. Join a community sports league. Take a dancing class with friends. If it gets you up and moving, it counts as exercise.

When you do get a chance to do a full workout, remember this term: interval training. Basically, it means working out in intense spurts between short periods of rest. So if you like to run, try running at full speed for 30 seconds, and then slowing down for two minutes. Repeat for 20 minutes. Research indicates interval training is much more effective in helping you lose weight and tone muscles than simply trudging on and on at a moderate intensity.

Secret #4: Fit women reward themselves.

When you're doing well, reward yourself. It might be a vacation, a trip to the spa, or an outfit you've been eyeing at the store. No matter how you treat yourself, it should be satisfying enough to motivate you to continue working toward a fit and healthier you.
